Get ready for the 2027 Nappanee Apple Festival Donut Dash 5K & 1-Mile Run/Walk on September 18, 2027! The Donut Dash is a fun, family-friendly race where everyone is welcome—from experienced runners looking for a challenge to walkers, families, kids, and anyone who simply wants to have a great morning and enjoy a donut at the finish! The race will start and finish at Nappanee Missionary Church, located at 70417 SR 19 North, Nappanee, IN 46550, just 2 miles north of downtown Nappanee and south of Wakarusa. Enjoy a scenic out-and-back course through the beautiful Nappanee countryside, with farms, open spaces, and a great view of the community along the way. After you cross the finish line, celebrate with donuts, refreshments, and plenty of fun! And don’t rush home! After the race, head downtown and enjoy everything the Nappanee Apple Festival has to offer. Race day registration will be ONLINE ONLY. Please register online before you arrive or before you participate. We will not have paper registration forms available on race day. Packet Pick-up Friday Night and Saturday Morning We want to make picking up your race gear as easy as possible! You can pick up your race bib and shirt during either of our scheduled packet pickup times: Friday, September 17: 5:00–8:00 PM Under the carport at Nappanee Missionary Church. Please use entrance D on the northside of the church Saturday, September 18: 6:30–8:20 AM Race morning packet pickup inside the church Please use entrance D on the northside of the church Nappanee Missionary Church 70417 SR 19 North Nappanee, IN 46550 A quick note about race shirts Race shirts must be picked up during one of the scheduled packet pickup times. We do not mail race shirts after the event. We understand that sometimes life happens! If you can’t make it to packet pickup, you’re welcome to have a friend or family member pick up your bib and shirt for you. Please plan ahead and make arrangements for someone to pick up your shirt if you can’t be there. This policy applies even if illness, injury, personal schedule changes, weather, race schedule changes, or other circumstances keep you from participating or attending packet pickup. Donut miss your shirt! We can’t wait to see you at the Donut Dash! No refunds, transfers or deferrals No refunds, credits, transfers, or deferrals will be provided for any reason, including: Illness or injury Personal schedule changes or conflicts Weather or unsafe conditions Race delays, changes, postponements, or cancellation Timing issues or results concerns Failure to attend the event Inclement weather The Donut Dash is held rain or shine. However, the safety of our participants, volunteers, and staff comes first. In the event of lightning, thunderstorms, or other dangerous weather conditions, race directors may delay, pause, resume, modify, or cancel the event at their discretion. Our lightning protocol is: If lightning is present and accompanied by audible thunder, runners must leave the course and take shelter. The race will remain paused for 30 minutes after the last audible thunder clap. Once conditions are determined to be safe, participants may return to the course and the race may resume. There is no maximum delay time. If dangerous weather continues, race directors may continue to wait or cancel the remainder of the event. Weather conditions can change quickly. Participants should be prepared to follow instructions from race officials and be flexible with race-day schedules for everyone’s safety. Safety first. Donuts second. Race Bib and Timing Information Race Bib Requirements Your race bib must be worn on the front of your body and clearly visible to receive an official time Bibs are non-transferable and may only be used by the registered participant Timing Mats All participants must cross timing mat Do not go around or bypass a timing mat Official Time The Donut Dash is chip timed. Your official time starts when you cross the timing mat at the start and ends when you cross the timing mat at the finish. Results and Awards Results will be posted on RunSignUp as soon as possible after the race Awards will be presented as soon as possible after the last 5K finisher crosses the finish line Refund Policy Timing or results concerns do not qualify for a refund. Chip timing by Watt's My Time Walkers are welcome! Strollers are welcome at the Nappanee Apple Festival Donut Dash! The Donut Dash is grateful to be a guest of Nappanee Missionary Church (NMC). Please help us respect the church and its facilities. Parents and guardians, please do not allow children to run, play, or roam around inside the church. Children must remain with a parent or responsible adult while inside the building. We want everyone to have a great time, but please help us keep the church safe, clean, and respectful for our hosts. Thank you for helping us be good guests! Road Closures CR 50 will close at 8:00 AM and will reopen after the last 5K participant has passed through the course. Please do not use CR 50 during the race closure. For safety reasons, the course, route, start times, or road closures may be changed as needed. Photography & Media Participants may be photographed or recorded during the Donut Dash. By participating, you acknowledge and agree that photographs, video, or other event media may be used for race-related promotional purposes, including social media, websites, and future event promotions. T-SHIRT DEADLINE Please note that Saturday, August 28 at midnight is the deadline to guarantee your preferred T-shirt size. Registrations received after August 28 may still include a shirt, but shirt sizes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and your preferred size may not be available. Finisher Medals: The first 900 finishers in both races Refreshments All participants will receive water, donut, and bananas at the finish line. AWARDS INFORMATION 1-Mile Awards Custom Wooden Apple Awards will be presented to the top 3 boys and top 3 girls in each of the following age divisions: 12 & Under 13 & Older 5K Overall Awards Custom Wooden Apple Awards will be presented to the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers in the 5K. 5K Age-Group Awards The top 3 male and top 3 female runners in each age group will receive a Custom Wooden Apple Award. Male Age Groups: 9 & Under, 10–14, 15–19, 20–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70–74, 75–79, 80-84, 85+ Female Age Groups: 9 & Under, 10–14, 15–19, 20–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70–74, 75–79, 80-84, 85+ Award Distribution Awards will be presented shortly after the last participant crosses the 5K finish line. Awards will not be mailed after the event. Parking & Bathrooms Parking and bathrooms are available at Nappanee Missionary Church, 70417 SR 19 North, Nappanee, IN 46550. When leaving the race, please use the SR 19 exit. Guidelines for Dogs Attending the Event We love our furry friends, but for everyone’s safety, dogs and pets are not allowed at the event.
